God put a burden (yes, it felt like a burden) on the heart of Pastor Curt to start a church in early 2018.  Pastor Curt was on a mission trip to India and saw the way that the church was growing & thriving in the small and large cities within India.  He saw how God was in the works of every aspect of the church and the lives of the people. Seeing how active God was in the works of the ministry, pastors and India, as a whole, it truly imprinted the importance of Kingdom work and that God in it all.

The burden slowly emerged out of nothing to a burning desire to obediently follow God’s direction.  God was moving in a mighty way in Pastor Curt’s heart and he began to open up to the thought of starting the church.

As Pastor Curt prayed about what to name the church plus the vision of merging our Sundays into our weekdays, the words merge and emerge kept popping up.

The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines emerge as above. The definition points of #1 and #3 really resonated.  That’s exactly how we felt … that we were rising (starting) out of an obscure position because we didn’t see starting a church in our future.  It also really resonated with the fact that this burden to start the church needed to become known.

The burden to start the church is truly no more.  We are expectantly hopeful and excited about the future!  We truly can’t wait to see what will emerge out of your lives and our lives as we get closer to God!

We are incredibly excited to be starting Emerge Church!
