Stories ::: First In-Person Gathering
Emerge launched online April 19, 2020 in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. When the world was feeling lost and hopeless, we opened our doors (virtually) to bring hope to those that were homebound.
As the world was shut down from COVID-19, we started meeting the basic needs of all of those around us. WE were providing relief funds to Convoy of Hope to send out basic needs and hope. Additionally, we partnered with local food pantries and schools to provide snacks and food for families and students. We fed +3,600 students and 250 families in March-May.
Indiana slowly began to open up in June and July for in-person gatherings to commence but with great measures of restrictions.
During this time of it slowly opening up, Emerge began to reach out to all of the local venues around the area. In fact, Emerge reached out to 52 venues and the vast majority of them could not open their doors to us based on the COVID regulations / restrictions.
Finally, in early August of 2020, God opened the door for us to get in touch with Daniel’s Vineyard in McCordsville, IN! After several conversations and much prayer, Daniel’s Vineyard agreed to allow us to host our weekly gatherings in their beautiful facility!
Sunday, September 27, 2020 was our very first in-person gathering at the venue. After 5 months of online only, it was so great to connect in person! It was perfectly orchestrated in God’s timing, of course!
