At Emerge, we want to create opportunities for us to pause, reflect, learn, and grow in our spiritual journey. Advent is one of those opportunities as we take time to expectantly hope for the return of Jesus.

Beginning on the fourth Sunday before Christmas, each of the four weeks of Advent leading up to Christmas Eve will focus on a different theme of celebration and anticipation—hope, peace, joy, and love.

Jesus said, “I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20). Encountering God is possible this Christmas season, Jesus said it’s a matter of opening the door. Will you let Him into your home? He’s waiting.

Each of the 4 weeks, we had a family come forward to light the candle for each week and read scripture. It was a great way for the entire family to be involved in this act of worship and reading of scripture.
