Our Beliefs

The Bible

We believe the Bible is inspired by God and without error in the writings. We embrace what is written and believe that the Bible is the supreme and final authority in faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21)

The Trinity

We believe in one God, creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 3:16-17; John 1:1,14; John 14:9; Genesis 1:2,26; John 4:24, John 10:30; John 14:16-20)

The Father

We believe in God the Father, an infinite personal Spirit, perfect in Holiness, wisdom, power and love. We believe He actively and mercifully intervenes in the affairs of men, He hears and answers prayer, that He seeks reconciliation with His creation, and He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. (Genesis 1:1; Acts 17:24-28; Hebrews 11:3)

The Son

We believe Jesus Christ is true God and true man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life and died on a cross as a sacrifice for our sins. He rose bodily from the dead. He ascended into Heaven and is now our High Priest and Advocate at the right hand of the Father. (Philippians 2:7,8; John 1:14; Romans 5:15-17; Colossians 2:9; I John 1:1; Matthew 1:18; Luke 1:26-38).

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God, equal with the Father and Son. The Holy Spirit convicts unbelievers of their need for Christ; He gives new birth to believing sinners; He indwells, sanctifies, leads, teaches, and empowers believers for living and service. We believe the biblical gifts of the Holy Spirit continue to be distributed by the Spirit today; that these gifts are central to spiritual growth and effective ministry; and that these gifts are to be eagerly desired, faithfully developed, and lovingly exercised according to biblical guidelines. (Psalm 139:7-12; John 14:16,17; 16:13,14; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 6:19)

Salvation

The Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins as a representative, substitutionary sacrifice and rose again for our justification; that all who believe in Him are justified on the basis of His shed blood and are saved by grace through faith wholly apart from human works. (Acts 13:39; 16:31; Romans 3:21-28; Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:3-8)

The Church

The purpose of the church on earth is to fulfill “The Great Commandment” and “The Great Commission”. (Matthew 22:36-40; 28:16-20)

Baptism

We believe that water baptism is an outward expression of the inward work of salvation. (Romans 6:4; Matthew 28:19; Colossians 2:12)

Communion

We believe that the Lord's Supper is a commemoration of Christ’s death and His atonement for our sins. (I Corinthians 11:23-32)

Hope

Our ultimate hope is the glorious return of our great God and Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus will physically return to earth as Judge and King to reign from the throne of David. ( 1 Corinthians 4:5; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Titus 2:13; Isaiah 9:7)

The Resurrection

We believe Jesus Christ did in fact overcome death by being raised to life on the third day. Therefore, we believe in the bodily resurrection from the dead: of the believer to everlasting joy with the Lord; of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting punishment. (Daniel 12; 1 Corinthians 15:12-28; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10 Revelation 20-22)

Marriage and Family

We believe God’s design for marriage is a lifetime covenant between one man and one woman. We believe that life begins at conception and we are called to care for and love our children that God has given us. We believe the God-given responsibility of parents is to lovingly train their children in the instruction and knowledge of the Lord. (Genesis 2:18-25; Psalms 139:13,16; Matthew 19:3-9; Ephesians 5:18-32, 6:1-4; Colossians 3:18-21; 1 Timothy 3:4, 5, 12)
