What to Expect
What about my kids?
We are excited to offer nursery services for ages 1 through 4 years old. Our goal is to provide a safe and loving environment for each child during the Sunday gathering. Please note: Emerge Children’s ministry will not be providing snacks, and we ask that parents do not bring food or sippy cups from home into the nursery.
Elementary age children (ages 5 through 4th Grade) will stay with their parents for worship and are provided with age appropriate quiet activities to engage them during the gathering.
We have expanded to add a class for our elementary age through 4th grade during the message portion of the gathering. They will be released after worship to go back and have their message!
Whether you have kids or not, we all know that the next generation will soon be shaping our community and we are rooting for them to succeed. To that end, we want to do everything we can to pass on a legacy of faith, love, hope, and community.
We also know that when you bring your kids to Emerge Church, you are placing your trust in us to do everything we can to keep them safe and teach them about Jesus. Rest assured, we do all that is in our power to make that happen. We ensure that all staff and volunteers have completed a criminal background check. Our trained leaders are up to date in the latest safety practices and will partner with you to help you raise your kids to follow Jesus.
What will a weekend gathering look like?
We will spend time worshipping with Jesus-centered contemporary songs and hymns. Our children will worship with us and then go to their own areas during the message. We will open our Bibles as we study God's Word (yes, paper Bibles — not required, but encouraged — we have one for you if you need it), with time to connect with each other as well.
Don’t worry about how you are dressed…we’re not worried about it.
It’s ok to be nervous; we get nervous in new places too. We will do our best to welcome you and make you feel at home, but provide you space to check us out and make sure we’re normal-ish! Oh, and coffee, yes, there will be coffee!
What about the rest of the week?
We believe the church is not a building or a single gathering. The weekend gathering is important, but we view it as the launchpad for the followers of Jesus to be on mission throughout the week: leading our families, serving the needs of our community, and telling people about Jesus.
We will offer several opportunities to get involved, serve, and connect in the everyday places of life to live life “on mission.”
